The Drowned Church of Potosi

I know you’re thinking, “ahh this church is on the list because it is completely submerged under water”, but that’s where you’re wrong. Previously inaccessible, individuals were not able to go inside the church itself, as it was 98% submerged in water. The fact that it was drowned, made it a site of public attraction. Things changed over the years, and by 2010, severe droughts, and shortages of water, drained the surrounding reservoir completely. Now the public, can walk into this church freely without limitation, but they will never be able to see it as the ‘drowned church’. The only way that will happen is if the area receives sufficient rain to completely submerge the church once again. For now, we’ll be able to take in the remnants of what once was.
